Contribuiți la feedbackWe found this place after visiting the whaling museum nearby. Yes, the decor may not be very appealing, but it's as local as it gets. I went for the dish of the day (prato do dia) which was porco alentejano mix of pork and clams, which was delicious and incredibly cheap. My wife had a very good grilled cod. Wine was not the best, but also cheap. Would come back for the food.
The greatest kindness of the whole island, cheapest dinner in my entire trip, fast service and healthy and good food. I don’t understand the low rating, please come and give a chance to this family-run restaurant instead of the rudeness of others. With 2 people, 2 mains, 4 beers and 2 coffees we spent 32€.
Eat Local, Think Local. In some parts of the world, I would think twice before getting into a restaurant with the external looks of this one. But this is peaceful Flores, the remotest island of Azores. The left half of the door opens to a mix between a messy warehouse and a local café. The right half opens to a corridor that takes you to a basic restaurant, in the back, decorated with images of whale hunting, where the food is generally very good and the waiter friendly. Good value for money, but don't expect sophistication. Just across the street to INATEL Flores Hotel.
I cannot really talk about the food cause when we entered, the waiter jumped behind the bar and started to busy himself with some paperwork and would not look at us. After 5 minutes waiting for someone to attend us, we just left (5minutes is long to wait for the menu in a restaurant).. when you dont feel welcome, you dont wa t to force your luck..
Que lindo jantar tivemos! Um serviço tão gentil e eficiente. Além disso, tivemos muitas sobras para o almoço do dia seguinte.
