Flor De Maiz - Santa Barbara

Everything was nice, service was good. I went for my birthday. Ordered the Porterhouse Steak. Hands down one of the worst steaks I’ve ever had. Absolutely DRENCHED in garlic. I couldn’t even taste the steak. It’s like I got a piece of meat on the side for my garlic. The food was disappointing here.

Beautiful looking and clean but extremely loud. The food was underseasoned and over priced. Neither of us liked our food. However the portion sizes were good. It took forever to get the drinks and the waiter only checked on us once. It was only a party of two with 1 entree and 1 drink a piece. The waiter refused to let us pay separately. He said our only option was to split it down the middle. This made everything awkward and was so unnecessary with such a simple order. Knowing my other party situation I just paid for the entire meal. Would not recommend!

This is a great location. It's beautiful down by the beach on Cabrillo blvd. I will say that the space is very nice. Its also super loud though. Hard to hear the person across from you having a conversation. I'm not sure if its the acoustics or what. My other knock on this place is that its really hard for me to tell the food apart from los agaves which is like substantially less (same owners, similar food). The happy hour is good. I've been once and haven't been back since.

Beautifully presented upscale Mexican restaurant located right alongside the Cabrillo bike path and Santa Bárbara beach. The prices here are reasonable especially considering the service and quality of food.This restaurant has many of your standard Mexican restaurant dishes but they offer versions with high quality ingredients. They even have a $150 margarita! They also offer standard steaks and tacos for those who don’t want to try something new. There’s also lobster empanadas and other unique items.Service here was great and we didn’t need to wait more than 20 minutes. Do prepare to wait a bit but if you go around the back there is a beer garden you can enjoy a drink while you wait for the text. You can also walk across the street to the beach and enjoy the views while you wait. It’s really not a problem.One of the best Mexican restaurants I have been to!

Landed there just by google recommendation, and it was such a good one!We had the octopus and steak tacos, and we were so surprised. Very good quality, best mexican experience we had in California. They also serve you a good quantity of corn totopos for free.
