Carpenter's Cafe Bookstore

One of my favorite findings recently, and probably the best bookstore I've ever been. We stopped at the mysterious building and at the history building and found several great titles on everyone. If you are a book lover, prepare to walk quite awhile, and I urge you not to leave with at least one small stack. The prices are large, with many titles are a bit below the recommended selling price of the publisher, and periodic $3 baskets and even a $1 table. The staff is fantastic, very knowledgeable and super helpful. I tried to make some insecure requests, and they had an answer to everyone. But with over 100k titles in 5 buildings it would be hard to mute them with a genre!

What a sweet bookshop! The staff were friendly and helpful and there was a wide selection of books. I bought two books cheaper than me on Amazon. Do not forget to go Gene’s Books II over the street for more books. Very recommended!

My second time to visit Genes books on Sanibel Island and will not be my last. Genes is not only a fun place to get lost in the book stacks, but great staff. Genes now has two locations and we visited both. We were welcomed and helpful by the staff. My mom said I could have stayed for hours just to talk books and she's not wrong. Can't wait back!

I've been coming to Ft. Myers for decades and this is just the best bookshop. What particularly vanishes me with the addition of the new location is the great selection of American history. This place is a history lover paradise!

A maze of a huge selection of books. One location is fiction, mystery and local authors, another location with non- fiction, children's and young adult genres. Friendly helpful staff.
