Il Dragone - SAN VITO LO CAPO

Delicious Arancini and the server very helpful. Two types to choose from mozzarella and ham or bolognese. I preferred the mozzarella one, however both where delicious.

I'd heard about the fabled arancini of Sicily; so I insisted on trying them all over. Il Dragone specializes in them (it's a take-away only place, best for lunch). They were by far THE BEST we had anywhere. About the size of a softball, these orange-colored rice treats come filled with either meat/peas/tomatoes or mozzarella. Both are delicious; but don't miss the mozzarella ones. The cheese is all melty and gooey when you get them; and it plays perfectly off the saffron soaked rice. Two of them are more than enough for lunch, and at 3 euro for 2, you can't beat the price! I'm drooling just remembering them... The place has other lunch/snack foods, like spada or fried eggplant sandwiches and grilled vegetables, also at good prices; but we went back more than once for the arancini. If you're in San Vito lo Capo, don't miss this experience!
