Contribuiți la feedbackHard for me to write this review since I really loved them and the service there. The waiter and staff were so attentive and really showed they cared about making sure our experience at Grandma 's was beyond great. They had an inside and outside part of the restaurant, and I was a bit surprised that when the temperature is 90+ degrees outside that they don 't keep the inside part cool for customers that want a break from the heat. Maybe its the cost, but either way...they immediately closed the doors and put on the AC so it started cooling as we sat down. Place has that cozy Grandma feel and loved the ambiance other than the temperature. But it always comes down to the food and they ran out of the fondue we heard so much about....but what I did order was just fair .. Sea and Mountain...pork belly was overcooked and the scallops were tiny bay scallops that tasted a bit fishy . The sauce was nothing special. Ordered Steak Heart and this came out perfectly cooked and looked gorgeous on the plate...but the beef was very bland and the gorgonzola sauce it came with was just ok (cheese needed to be more sharp). Dessert was apple strudel which was ok, but just needed to be warmed more before serving. Without asking, the waiter took the dessert off the bill, and just goes to show again how GREAT they are here. This is a perfect example of how when service is that good, I would definitely give them another chance to try other dishes that may be better. Try the fondue maybe. But I had to be honest with my review and say its fair food but still worth going for the service and see how they improve. Their heart is in the right place. And after all this all inclusive food at hotels...it was a nice change of pace.
Love the cheese fondue! Everything on the menu is delicious. We've been twice and will keep going back!
Two dining experiences with Grandma's and both were amazing! First was for lunch. A little stumble on getting our cocktails correct but the food was so tasty that I had to bring friends to try dinner. First off the interior and the outdoor dining area is really clean. Then you have adorable place settings, table decor, comfortable seating and outstanding service. What more could you want? Good food, right? Well it's not good. It's GREAT! So far we have collectively tried the following: Pili Salad (twice) the dressing on this is so yummy, the tang of the goat cheese and the different textures with the caramelized pecans make this one of my favorites! Empanada Basket We've had this at both visits because you cannot go and not try it. The flaky empanada crust is what really makes this dish! White Wine Cheese Fondue I think I could seriously make a meal out of this and not share it with the rest of the table. A very good portion and definitely enough to share with 4 people. I wanted to lick the bowl. LOL Cazuelita's So far I have tried the pressed pork rinds and the beef tinga. Both were great and I plan to try each one! Southwest Style Fried Chicken Yummy! Crunchy and super tasty batter. My only suggestion to the restaurant would be to put 3 different cuts of chicken. (It came with 3 legs). Maybe one leg, a wing and a breast or something like that. I'm not a dark meat fan but luckily my husband is and he loved the dish! Pricing is very very reasonable and despite being along side a road without any views to speak of, you feel like you are in a very special place and the food will transport you to Grandma's house....
