The Counter Santana Row Priority Seating

Our server barely checked in on us, couldn’t complete basic asks like refilling our drinks, had to ask other servers to get him for us and then we were charged 20% gratuity. I understand why they charge the 20% to make sure everyone on the staff gets something but this was the laziest “service” we’ve ever had at the Counter and we’ve had some pretty bad service here. Two burgers with fries and one soda came out to $80. Unreal. We could have had burgers at LB Steak on the other end of Santana Row for less and it would have come with just as good food and incredible service. We won’t be back.

Strangely, the host informed me The Counter does not accept reservations when I arrived. We were seated promptly, however. Staff was attentive and food came fast.

The Counter was great but they did not award me my points. I have called the restaurant and they verified I was there. They are checking into it. Lisa

My wife and I ate here as we were staying at the Hotel Valencia across the street and could constantly smell the burgers from our balcony. We made a reservation on Open Table, which was a good idea as it was busy. We got a nice table outside and didn't have to wait long for drinks. The drinks were made very well. We really liked how there were so many options for creating your own burger or sandwich. My wife had a very good burger, and I had a really good fried chicken sandwich. The onion strings were also very good and not greasy. If in the area again and hungry for a good burger, we'd definitely be back.
