We've been here a few times after our initial visit. The last time we were there, our naan bread was served with hair in it. So clearly cleanliness has taken a backseat. Overall everything has worsened. Also our server could barely speak English and couldn't offer us any clarifications we seeked. The service has deteriorated. The quality and taste of food is also less satisfactory now. This was one of our favorites (see review below). Sad that I can no longer recommend this place to anyone. Original review below: They were one of the very few restaurants open on Christmas Day evening, so very grateful for that! The appetizers (paneer tikka, corn manchurian) are great! Had them made spicy and they were very spicy indeed! And they tasted real good! We ordered Garlic Naan basket for bread and Matter Paneer, Malai Kofta for curries. They were very fresh and tasted great. The naans were very fluffy and soft. Curries tasted authentic Indian! They served hot basmati rice along with the curries again was yum! Service was quick and good. Overall a nice place for dinner!
Small but well organized place, humble waiter, reasonably priced(cost less than 10 bucks for a buffet), and finally I could taste the flavors of North India at the United States. Wud definitely recommend this place if you want a relaxed, tasty lunch/dinner Visited this place recently. taste has gone bad. Not sure why but yah not anywhere near the standards. Service is bad as well. Stay away!!!
I went there seeing review on Google..It was a mistake. Food was below average.most of the customers in restaurant weren't Indian.. so they give high rating assuming this is how Indian Punjabi food taste like.. I think , there must be a committee which should stop restaurant using and spoiling Punjab food name..they had sweet chola , bitter Chicken curry... I could taste the uncooked onion gravy in it..
Update 5/10/2019: I am updating my review to 1/5 stars. It was previously 4/5. My original review is below. Yesterday I placed an order online through an app that is advertised on their website (MealHi5). I placed the order and my card was charged right away. This was 7:20 pm. I showed up at 7:40 pm and the restaurant was closed and it looked like no one was there to begin with. I’ve tried contacting MealHi5 and Peacock Cuisine to get a refund and of course neither have responded. Ever since Peacock Cuisine took over Punjab Cafe it has gone down hill and I cannot recommend this place. It is extremely unprofessional and the business owners have show a complete lack of competency. I will not be coming back here because this is not the first problem I’ve had like this. In addition, the new recipes are not as good as Punjab Cafe’s. Old review: This is one of my favorite restaurants. I love that they have so many vegetarian options! Their paneer masala with garlic naan is SO good. The only problem is how slow they can be. Even though it is well worth the wait, just plan on getting your food in 30 minutes-1 hour. So if you call in your order, or order for pickup via an app, just know that it'll take a while.
