Big D Pizzeria - San Francisco

Ordered through third party delivery company which was quick. The problem was the bottom of our pizzas was burned, this making the pizza very tough to eat. There was not enough sauce and overall the pizza lacked flavor. Highly disappointed.

This place is kind of tucked away, but the ambience is really classy and intimate, with soft lighting. The pizza I had the garden party, and I was glad to be invited ! Toppings were plenty, but not so much that the pizza was weighed down too much. I liked the base too, it wasn't too thick or too thin and quite tasty! The combination of toppings tasted really good(and is good value compared to build your own option), and the tomato sauce base was great. The textures of all the toppings like artichoke, cauliflower and peppers was very enjoyable. If I have one grouch, it's that the pizza could've used more tomato sauce. But perhaps that would make the pizza too heavy.. I look forward to trying the other offerings here. One pizza can suffice for two people. Oh and the packaging is very cute

First time ordered. What a huge disappointment! The pizza we ordered was the garden party. It was burnt so bad we could only eat the middle. We ordered extra feta and there was none at all. So little toppings, or maybe they were all burnt off, we couldn't taste anything but char. Sad this was our first experience, I hope we caught them on a bad day. Big D was a big disappointment!

I LOVED my first time trying this place and I will definitely order again! Happy to be their first review First and most importantly: the pizza. It 's really good and exactly what I want in a pizza: not too light, not too dough-y or bread-y, just the right amount of chewiness. I think the dough is everything. They even brush the crust with some garlic butter (I think? that makes it so savory and good. You can make your own pizza but their menu really has some creative combinations that I haven 't seen before and multiple that I 'd love to try. Mine looks a little bare because I got one with no traditional cheese (just some pecorino sprinkled on top which sounds crazy but was actually really good with the bacon vodka sauce and jalapeño. I 'm usually a meat pizza person all the way but this sounded really interesting and did not disappoint. Others: I got the cauliflower wings. It 's deep fried cauliflower nuggets with a sweet and sour ginger sauce. The cauliflower was good; The batch of sauce the I received was so heavy on the ginger, even for me who loves ginger, so I think that could be improved. But overall I was really impressed, mostly by the quality of the pizza. Every bite was flavorful because of the sauce and the brushing and the texture was just right.
