Red Marlin Hyatt Regency Mission Bay

We stayed here from 9/22-9/27, we enjoyed our stay! We wished we could've utilized the pool area more, it was SO windy in the pool area and not quite warm enough for that level of wind. Instead we went to the beach and had a great time! I wish I would've known that ahead of time as we didn't utilize much of the amenities for the cost we paid. The food at the restaurant near the pool was very good! The beds were comfortable and the room was updated and clean. We didn't hear anyone else from our room. The plane and car traffic was loud even from the 16th floor though. Even with our daughters sound machine I could still hear it all plain as day. We had a great view of the marina and enjoyed watching boats and fish from our balcony! Note that there really isn't anything within walking distance from the hotel, however, it is just a quick drive to most places. We spent a lot of time in downtown, Mission Beach, and Pacific beach and most of the time was under 15 min if not 5-10 to everywhere we went. The staff we encountered were helpful and very friendly. We have no true complaints about our trip!

Overall great location and friendly staff.Terrible cleanliness and outdated/ dirty rooms. Traveled with family and felt extremely safe.Rooms: with the amount of money spent the last thing you want to do is walk into a room with dirty sheets, stained carpets and walls. Beds were broken and tilted and we ended up buying cleaning supplies at target to clean up the room. What’s makes it crazy is we had to wait 4hrs to check in because, “our room wasn’t ready and needed to be cleaned.” The trash had not even been taken out when we walked in. We traveled so long we didn’t even bother to change rooms and potentially wait longer. Rooms do not have the best sound proofing. Cool to hear seals in the morning, but listening to cars race down the street at all times of night wasn’t ideal.Service: everyone was friendly and seemed genuine. Every time they cleaned our room they didn’t replace our towels, they just took the old ones. Although they did bring up towels when we requested them. Hotel security was phenomenal and personable.Location: fantastic! Close to parks, the marina, and even Belmont park.Nearby activities: Whale watching, boat rides, Kayaks.Walkability: Marina is right there with access to boat rides.

The location was great and right next to the ocean. Had a great time, the parking not being free threw me off a bit but it was a good experience overall

The Hyatt Regency Mission Bay is the ultimate family-friendly destination the kids loved the 3 diffrent pool that suited my 3yo and 6yo diffrent swimming abilities and the 3 diffrent water slides the smore kits from pelicans was a great touch the smore kits from the other shop are store bought with no brand chocolate and graham so get them from pelicans) the room had great views of the bay and beautiful sunset And let me tell you, Farah from the concierge staff is absolutely amazing and super helpful! She made sure our family had the best experience ever! from the moment we we walked in to when we checked out thank you again!

My experience with the Hyatt Regency in San Diego Mission Bay was absolutely phenomenal. From the easy booking online and helpful concierge, to my arrival and any and all in between was magnificent. Cynthia at the front desk was amazing and she really helped make my trip become an unforgettable memorable experience. Extremely helpful and kind. The valet staff was tremendous, the breakfast at Marlin was delightful, the poolside staff was great. Absolutely everything about this hotel amazed me. I stayed in a king suite on the 11th floor of the tower and the views were SPECTACULAR. The bedding was so comfy, the shower and bathrooms were cleaned daily and up to par. Hands down, wonderful resort. Wonderful staff. :
