He tried to take our order but a waitress came over and berated him and it was her table to tend to (btw, she is a very good server so just hope you get her! , so there were some interesting things going on with the waitstaff. Teo 's is a bit trendy with the millennials so you can expect it to be crowded. Very interesting menu as the food is from south of Guandong. Two appetizers I highly recommend are the deep fried enoki mushrooms wrapped in lettuce leaves and the jellyfish salad (pretty spicy! . Desserts feature fried mochi and a 1000-layer cake they have brought up from LA.
Food was basic, flavourless and un enjoyable. I had the mushrooms wrapped n lettuce leaves to start: felt like I was eating deep fried batter strings with no sauce. Went on the the Jade tofu dish which tasted like Campbell's chicken soup on top of tofu. Bland and boring. Service was rushed and close to rude. I won't be back. Go to Chinatown instead.
I'm Chinese. Even for average Chinese restaurant standard, this is the by far the worst service EVER. The food was not nearly good enough for the abusive service. We had reservation at 6:15pm, asked for our last missing dish 4 times. By 9:00pm, we gave up. Had to go up to the waitstaff station to get our check. Will definitely NOT return.
The only Chao Zhou cruising in town. Pretty legit. On the expensive side for everyday dinning.
DON'T GO. Dim-sum style hot pot offering where they kept recommending dishes that you already told them you don't want to order. Not to mention we were there to order regular stir-fry dishes and were forced to order hot pot as a pre-requisite. Spring rolls tasted like frozen for over a year and the meat and vegetable inside expired for half a year that they blend together like smashed beans with blue cheese.
