Restaurant Ho-Boun - Saint-Eustache

We ordered dish number 6 for two people from the takeout menu. The food was still hot by the time we got home and it was delicious. The standout dish was the General Tso's chicken, which was both spicy and tangy. The only downside was that the chicken balls had very little chicken in them.

I have been a customer of Ho-Boun for 30 years - I used to live in St-Eustache and it is the go-to Chinese restaurant. The food is delicious, especially the egg rolls and the kung pao chicken. They offer a buffet for lunch and dinner at an affordable price.

The ambiance is pleasant, but the food is mediocre. One major issue with their buffet is that the trays are only filled to accommodate the current number of diners, leading to frequent requests for refills. This can result in long waits and missed opportunities to try dishes you haven't sampled yet. The General Tao chicken is kept separate from the sauce to prevent sogginess. Additionally, there is a grilling station for precooked skewers or bread, but you must request additional servings. Overall, the takeout service may be a better option.
