Romano's Macaroni Grill - S Portland

Friends had been at another of this chain and recommended it. It was ok but nothing special. Only half full but out of several items. Ordered prosecco; it wasn't chilled. Only a couple Italian wines on their list and those were not great selection. (No sangiovese? no chianti classico? Ordered pinot, they brought cab. Fettucini was ok but the salmon on top was over-salted. Wouldn't bother going there again.

We loved the food and had great service! Fried mozzarella was good, mac and cheese bites and Alfredo sauce was delicious. The portions were big too. We got the four cheese Mac and cheese and chicken Parmesan. Chocolate cake for dessert was nice and rich and good portion as well.

Food was pretty good, but the flavored teas were extremely watered down.

Hands down prefer Macaroni Grill over Olive Garden for chain Italian food.

We went for lunch; the atmosphere was pleasant, and the food was reasonably priced. We went at an off time, between lunch and dinner, so it was relatively slow. For a second, we thought they were closed! Overall happy with the food and service.
