Charming, warm and inviting. The staff were wonderful. I asked a waitress about a painting on the wall, she laughed, I felt embarrassed. Then she took my hand, led me outside and 50 metres down the road. It was the scene from the painting and the best photo oppurtunity i have ever had. This is not a 5 star hotel, but if you look past the 20 year old wallpaper to the 800 year old mansion that it is, you will have as great of a time that i had.

We live in New Zealand and first visited Goldener Greifen in 2016. We loved it so much we are starting our European holiday there again this year (2018) in one week's time.

Amazing food, atmosphere, and wait staff. The prices were very affordable especially given the quality of the food. I recommend the house wine and some of the traditional Franconian dishes!

Friendly, helpful staff. Great service. Delicious food! Thanks Dario. I ordered the white asparagus platter for lunch and it was delightful!
