Maria's Mexican Grill - Roselle

Ordered taco salad for lunch. was informed they have no shells. Asked for extra chips, was told they are out. The chicken was only seasoned with salt. Iced tea was green tea and had no taste. My friend ordered beef tacos and it looked like sloppy joe.Sorry will not recommend.

I absolutely LOVE visiting this place whenever I'm in town, which is about every other week. I usually drop by for a margarita because they are AMAZING and truly exceptional! They really know how to make a great drink. I often find myself feeling wonderful even after just one house margarita! The chips and salsa are incredible, and the staff is consistently fantastic. It’s definitely one of my favorite spots for drinks and food!

I’ve only tried the steak burritos and steak quesadillas from this place, and they were both fantastic—very cheesy, which is a huge plus for me. The hot sauce and green salsa were also great accompaniments to the food. I’ll definitely be coming back more often. I did find it a bit odd that they share a space with a Chinese restaurant. On my most recent visit, I ordered to-go and thought they had given me a couple of egg rolls. When I got home, I realized they had put my salsa cups in a little bag that looked like one for egg rolls!

Overall, it was a decent experience. The margaritas were lacking in size, and the tortillas used for the tacos were quite small—more akin to street tacos. However, the meat was well-portioned and flavorful. The salsa had a nice smoky heat, but the salsa verde was rather bland. The hot sauce was enjoyable, though. Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired; we weren't offered additional chips and salsa, and after ordering one margarita, we received two instead. Moreover, the server mistakenly dropped off salsa at our table before moving it to another one, which is a big no-no in the restaurant industry. Based on my experience, I would rate this place 2.5 out of 5 stars. They definitely need to improve in several areas.

I ate here often when they first opened. It was GREAT then with good food beverages at reasonable prices. Sure wish I was still in the neighborhood, I'd be a regular! I understand that Maria's was bought out by a Chinese Family who own theRestaurant, a couple doors down from their GREAT Chinese Eatery. As far as I know, they still have a decent Mexican Menu.Although, still in business with a typical Mexican Bar Menu, this spot is now owned by a Chinese- American Family it's as goodas ever.
