Zio Carlo - Roma

Located in a very touristic place with cars passing next to you. The food was ok, not bad, not great.

The food was definitely far below Italian standards. Pizza as for Italy was even worse. Ordered the one with anchovies and got literally 4 pcs of fish. Each for one quarter of the pizza. Before we got fried little octopus which was like a gummy to chew. Even the bruschetta was only average. One good thing was the house wine. In the and we got the bill with no Fork discount and on top of this we were not able to pay with the ForkPay even though it was offered in the app the waiter did not accept it. In total it was very disappointing. I would even say one of the worst experience we got in Italy ever. Shame…

We had a lovely dinner, great Italian food, can highly recommend, especially the mozzarella di bufala con tartufo and other truffle dishes!

After months of planning our 16-day trip and thousands of restaurants to Zio Carlo, it was the most disappointing. We could have chosen any restaurant among numerous in the area that would have offered a better service and food. The waiter was rude to us Americans when we asked for descriptions of food choices.
