La Vacca Grassa - Roma

We arrived early (20.00) on a Friday evening and were shown to a table in the veranda area. This area was heated, but because our table was up against the plastic tenting there were distinctly felt draughts on our feet. The very pleasant waiter took our order and then we waited, and waited some more. Eventually, and I mean eventually,our food arrived with many apologies. All of the food was very good and thoroughly enjoyed. Some of us had desserts and they were also judged to be good with very generous portion sizes. We will try this restaurant again and just hope that the service is better. Overall judgement: Positive

Before last week, last time I had come to this restaurant was several years ago under the previous management and I thought it was OK, but now it is really outstanding. Cozy, warm atmosphere, friendly and very helpful staff and delicious food. Everything, from the appetizers to the desserts was extraordinary. I particularly loved the steak, juicy and cooked to perfection. I will definitely go back and suggest everybody I know to try it.

Lots of space... little playground for kids. Beautifully kind staff. Lovely setting good pizza... fantastic fried olives. 5 minutes from ostia but really a milion miles away in atmosphere. Great place...
