Contribuiți la feedbackA taste of France in Rome! me and my girlfriend have been here for a dinner out during our vacation in Rome and discovered right in front of Circo Massimo this lovely place. The atmosphere is relaxed, the manager lovely and the food excellent. Definitely coming back in our next time in this wonderful city
Having been in Rome for the better part of a month I was ready for something different. My wife had been to La Renardier last year with friends and thought I would like the place. I LOVED THE PLACE. The owner is a lovely french woman who really cares about her patrons and the food she serves. The menu has Crepees, omelets, stews and fish and more. For lunch I had delicious Pori, gorgonzola picante, noci followed by Vol au vent con capesante, gamberi e cozzi insalata translation a piece of gorgonzola quiche and a puff pastry filled with scallops, shrimp and mussels in a cream sauce and a salad. If you decide to visit La Renarier and this dish is on the menu you must order this meal. You will thank me from the bottom of your heart for this recommendation. They have a Website which lists the lunch and dinner menu it changes all the time. They were turning people away at 1:30 so a reservation is inorder. Please visit Ristorante la Renardiere for one of the best meals available in Rome. Easy to get to Metro Line B Circo Massimo and walk up Viale Aventino for about 5 minutes it will be on your left. You will thank me!!!
This has become a favourite of people who live and work in the Aventino area. The cooking is traditional French (actually, lots of French people working nearby are repeat customers), with reliable standbys enlivened by the occasional foray into more experimental cuisine. There are now tables outside as well. I eat here often because I find the atmosphere congenial and the food reliably good and authentic. My only caveat is that there really ought to be one more waiter to meet the rising demand and expansion with the new (this year) outside table service(this is a very popular restaurant with local people).
We stumbled unexpectedly about this intimate French restaurant while we walk on the way to viale aventino near fao to visit a friend and we are so happy that we stopped. at our first visit to the restaurant, because it was not planned, we did not make any reservations, but luckily, as it was only available one table for us. I would recommend a reservation because it will fill out quickly. we enjoyed our first visit so much, we decided to return a week later, bring a camera and make sure it was as good as we remembered and it was. we started with some bordeaux, but we corrected the error, just get a glass on our first visit and get a bottle this time. this was a 2017 that was not too expensive and was lovely. our starters were a quiche lorraine and while I ordered a cheese soufflé because it takes 20 minutes to prepare them, she asked if I would prefer my first first, and the soufflé second and I said yes. it turned out to be the wrong choice because I wasn't in a hurry and in retrospect I would have preferred to cultivate my wein while waiting. next time I'll meet another choice. the quiche and the soufflés were light, cheerful and tasty. I had quiche that was a little oily from the cheese and meat, but that was not at all. our main thing was a steak au poivre (filetto al pepe,) who came with a side of fried kartoffeln (patate fritte) and a thun-fish and avocado tartar with garnel. the steak was perfectly cooked, although at our second visit, I don't think I was asked how I wanted it cooked as I visited our first. the thunfischmousse reminded me of cod mantecato, which was beautiful, and the avocado and garnel were tender and tasty. we did not get dessert this time because we had other plans, but on our first visit the apple cake with gelato was a great finish to the meal and it seemed popular among the others, so don't hesitate if they still have a place to eat more!
