Contribuiți la feedbackI went to this restaurant for the first time and was disappointed with the quality compared to the price. I ordered the Yellow Croaker Stew, but it came out more like a soup. Despite ordering one portion, the server insisted on charging us for two portions at the same price. The spicy tuna sashimi sauce was not what we expected, tasting more like Hoisin sauce. I do not plan on returning to this restaurant again.
I have been a fan of Japanese cuisine since I first experienced it while hitchhiking through Japan in 1969. Upon returning to Vancouver, there were only two Japanese restaurants in town - Maiko Gardens and Akis. Back then, the idea of raw fish was met with skepticism and disapproval. However, after fifty years and dining at various places around the world, I must say that I find Hananoki to be an excellent value for the price. The fish is fresh, the portions are generous, and the rice texture is commendable. Overall, I highly recommend Hananoki for a satisfying Japanese dining experience. - Lorne Brown.
This is a pleasant establishment with a Japanese restaurant that incorporates Chinese style elements. They provide customers with Chinese spoons for the miso soup. The food is decent, but could benefit from more authenticity in Japanese cuisine.
Having lunch with friends this Sunday. We ordered a sashimi plate, fish soup, bbq fish head and a couple plates of aburi. Foods (fishes) are very fresh! Soup and aburi taste very good too! It's a hidden gem in the neighborhood. Highly recommended!
Just your typical Japanese restaurant. Food is good. Large portion and price point is reasonable.
