La Galleria Della Pietra - Ratingen

After just coming back from a week in Sardegna, we found La Galleria Della Pietra by accident. We were totally impressed by the freshness and quality of the dinners we ordered. The staff was friendly and helpful, and we spoke with the Chef afterwards about how much we enjoyed her cooking.

The restaurant is relatively new in town and pretty well located. I had a coffee there once, which it was good, they have a professional coffee machine. And I have lunch another time. I must say, the prices are too high for the quality of the food. I have the impression that they don´t have an eye for details …my dish was presented pretty plane as if I would have done it in a rush myself at home. The tables weren´t dressed and the music was LOUD …it wasn´t even Italian music playing. Instead playing something more melodic …I don´t know …Laura Pausini maybe?My impression was that I pay too much for a poor lunch in a restaurant where the soul and coziness were missing. The owner didn´t speak German language when I went, I am wondering if that has changed in the meantime? I recommend the owner a strong research about service, pricing and presentation (dishes and decoration) …The food it was O.K. but nothing spectacular …I can do the same at home, even in a better the presentation.
