Contribuiți la feedbackLet's just say my first impression wasn't good. When we checked in, a number of people waited with a person at the reception. He was very liquid and I felt bad for him. Our room should be ready at 3:00, but it has not been cleaned yet, so not ready. They said they'd call when it's done. I never got a call after 90 minutes. I called the hotel and nobody took off. I left a message. No one answered. To make a long story short, we could finally go to our room. The guy apologised and said they were overwhelmed and short-circuited what I understand and liked. The room was very nice with a beautiful view of the sea and generally clean and comfortable. Tastefully furnished with updated amenities. The bathrooms were a little dated, but the property had a lot of character and was quirky and unique, like Provincetown. However, the place was not well maintained and there were things everywhere (see how storage problems with boxes). I would say that they can improve or lower their prices. Finally, the hotel is a boutique hotel with tons of potential, but almost managed like a hostel or 2 stars place. Maybe just a COVID/Hard to find the workers' problem I feel. For the price I paid, I still think it was a good offer and enjoyed my stay. I loved the situation and the rest and for the price I would stay here again!
I had a great stay at The Waterford Inn! The rooms were clean and very comfortable, the breakfast was delicious, and the staff was all helpful and nice! This was my first trip to Provincetown and the location of The Waterford Inn was perfect for walking anywhere you want to go. Very recommended!
The room we booked costs about the same (USD 428.00 as room at the elegant Hotel le Méridien right on the beach in Nice on the French Riviera in South France. This price increases expectations that have unfortunately not been met. Our complaints were taken seriously and, if possible, found a solution. So I raised my one star to two. For all its good will, the Waterford Inn is an overpaid, unprofessionally renovated bed and breakfast at the price of a luxury hotel on the Cote d'Azur in southern France, and the Cote d'Azur is certainly not a budget destination. The old doors, cabinets and floor plates were simply painted over instead of being renovated first. For example, the bathroom door does not have a proper bolt. The door to my grandmother's chicken stall was exactly the same. This can be very sweet, but not for USD 428.00 Moreover, a plug and a shelf are missing on one side of the bed. In the too small bathroom there is no glass for the toothbrush. The Covid Pandemie was taken as an opportunity that the beds are no longer made and the rooms are no longer cleaned. The reason for this is the welfare of workers. Rather, the truth is that they want to save money, otherwise the guests would be compensated for the lack of service. In addition, the refrigerator is dirty and should be cleaned by utility. But that doesn't exist anymore. We have booked a room with balcony and sea view. Unfortunately, the balcony cannot be used because the ventilation of the restaurant is next to the balcony. The noise and the stem are unbearable. The sound begins before noon sometimes at 07:00 until late at night. You can also hear the sound through the closed windows. This space should only be sold with a clear declaration of lack. I don't know American laws. We asked if we could change rooms. It would have been possible theoretically, but we would have to change the rooms twice and that was too much trouble for us. Guests need to pick up breakfast from the Mexican restaurant and there is exactly one dish and coffee included (is no stinginess a deadly sin? Nothing against Mexican food, but I don't like Mexican food for breakfast, I would be happy with bread, butter and jam. In addition, the fact that Mexican breakfast is served in plastic and aluminum: as Europeans, I am shocked by this lack of style. In addition, a large amount of waste is produced during breakfast and this behaviour is definitely not sustainable. After we complained, we could choose something from the selection of rolls, cakes and croissants. Then we insisted that the coffee is served in real cups (no plastic or cardboard). Voilà, that's breakfast. And now James or who is responsible should see the breakfast buffet of a 430 USD room hotel in Europe. The good beds were very comfortable and the ONLY ONE coffee was very good. I loved the cinnamon room (no one had such an expensive cinnamon roll?
This place did not meet my expectations at all. Too expensive. I found James the owner? rather inappropriate. There was no real greeting, interest in our stay or offer, what to do during the visit. The rooms are not during your stay, as a Kovid measure, but I think this is just an excuse. If you have room #9 or #10, you can't let your window open or use the balcony, as fans from the restaurant kitchen are loud and terrible stinking. Breakfast is advertised as a continental breakfast on their website and booking sports, but you can only select ONE items from their Mexican dishes, served in paper cups and foil/plastic with plastic fork, just disgusting for USD400. one night. Where is your sustainability? Only after we complained, we were offered ONE croissant instead of some tacos or burrito. Shower and toilet are from the 80s. No cup or glass for the toothbrush, not enough space to store your toiletries. It seems that the owner uses a lot of color to hide the shortcomings. After I have said all these negative points, I would also like to mention the positive points: comfortable bed, big coffee, excellent location.
We have stayed in several times over the past 10 years, had almost concluded this would be our inn as re visit P Town about every other year. Our 2021 visit however proved very unsatisfying the manager particularly seemed disturbed that we asked for services of any type (carrying luggage up three flights of stairs we are in our seventies) or asking that the in room refrigerator noise be fixed. Our room, with a tiny balcony seemed a good idea but actually overlooked the restaurant fan and courtyard dining area, The room itself was spacious and clean, it was the service that just turned us off from future stays.
