The wait time was long during my visit, and it appears that the restaurant is not as busy as it used to be. I drive by it every day and it's no surprise given the forgettable food. I really wish the dining experience was better, but it just fell short. I'm hesitant to give it another try as I don't want to waste my money. I want to support local businesses, but I have my doubts about this place surviving.
I decided to give Leftys a try after hearing about the one in Detroit on the news. I uploaded 3 photos: one of the Lefty's Cheesesteak, the second of the Grim Reaper, and the third of the SouthPaw. The Lefty's Cheesesteak was pretty basic, with just meat and cheese, contrary to what was shown online with the sweet cherry pepper sauce. I would have preferred it with the sauce. It was okay, nothing special, so I give it 2 stars. The Grim Reaper was spicy, but not extremely hot, and didn't seem to have Reaper powder or any similar sauce. If you like spicy food, it could be good, but for those seeking a real kick, it might be disappointing. The SouthPaw was covered in liquid cheese sauce, making it a good option for those who enjoy cheesy hoagies. It also had Flaming Hot Cheetos, but they weren't too spicy. This was the favorite of the teenager in our group. The buns were more like hot dog buns than sturdy hoagie bread, which was unexpected. The amount of meat was generous compared to Subway, so I would choose Lefty's over Subway for that reason. The curly fries were great, well-seasoned and cooked perfectly. The service was through the drive-thru only, and it was a bit lacking in politeness and courtesy. The prices range from $10-13 per hoagie, which is comparable to other fast-food places in the area. Despite some minor disappointments, we would go back to try other sandwiches. My advice would be to avoid the plain Lefty's Cheesesteak and go for something more interesting next time.
The chicken at this restaurant is not good. My order was mixed up and I received chicken instead of steak. It was a bad experience. It could have been a mistake made by the high schooler taking orders, but the chicken was not up to par. Stick with the steak if you want a better meal. The chicken needs improvement.
So good! One of my favorite places to go for lunch. A bit pricey but worth every penny!
Stop what you are doing and try this place out. Best chilli cheese fries I have had in awhile and I ordered the ghost pepper steak sandwich.... Just the right amount of spice, I could still taste everything else in the sandwich. Keep up the good work... I will definitely be back again.
