Rancho Steak - Poole

Haven't been for a few years and was expecting good things after hearing that there had been a change in management. How wrong was I, table wasn't ready for booked time not off to a great start. Drink and food orders were taken reasonably quick, with food arriving out soon after ordering. Ribs or steak didn't have much flavour to them, no offer of any sauces or a steak knife with the food. We were going to look at the dessert menu, after waiting 15 minutes to be brought one we decided to call it a night. After requesting the bill we waited another 10/15 minutes before giving up and walking to the desk and settling up. Very poor service, male behind the till seemed to be more interested in being on his phone than serving customers. Will not be returning again.

I'll try to keep this brief. My original order was not available, so I had to change it, which was fine at first. However, when my steak arrived, I discovered a hair on it. I alerted the waiter, who simply transferred the steak to a different plate and expected me to eat it, which I refused. A new steak was prepared for me, but it was so rare that I could only describe it as still alive. The chef should consider a different career path, as their cooking skills are lacking. The service standards here seem to have dropped. The only positive aspect were the two waitresses who were trying their best, but it's hard to serve low-quality food. On the bright side, the wine was good. I've attached a photo of how I cook my own steak, so I expect better when dining out.

My family of 7 went out to celebrate a birthday at this restaurant. It was nearly empty and the service was very poor. We had to request for our table to be cleared after waiting for over 30 minutes once we finished our meals. I had to go to the bar where one employee was so focused on her phone that she didn't acknowledge me until another coworker alerted her to my presence. It took a long time for our desserts to arrive and again for us to receive our bill. None of the staff appeared to be interested in serving us and seemed like they didn't want to be there. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and we do not plan on returning.

Another friendly visit as always. Popped in on last Wednesday…had a few large parties in and the atmosphere was welcoming as always. Food tasted lovely and the ribs tender as always. Waited no more then 15/20 mins for food. Booked in for our new years roasts. Thanks again

My partner and I wanted to go out on a steak date night. We accepted that it was going to be a costly evening wherever we went. We first arrived and were greeted by a polite server, Harry, who got us seated and promptly took our drink orders. Within a few minutes we had our drinks in front of us. We had our food order taken and again, our appetiser was in front of us within a few minutes. The quality of food was superb, the drinks were chilled and timely and the service was superb. Our mains were delicious, steaks cooked to perfection and the side dishes exquisite. All in all, a 5/5 experience. Worth every penny and the atmosphere was superb.
