Contribuiți la feedbackDancing Gnome makes highly-rated beer, especially in Pennsylvania according to my beer craft senses. So, I needed to get my hands on some. We were headed back home to Grand Rapids, when we decided to make a pit stop in Pittsburgh to the brewery. It was my 1st time in Pittsburgh. They have a wide variety of hop-forward beers, and the taproom has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The whole vibe is that of an industrial touch like the breweries in Brooklyn. The brewery is accessible to wheelchairs, but parking can be tight. There is a small lot behind the brewery, but it fills up quickly. There are also a few metered spots on the street, but these can be difficult to find. If you are coming in a wheelchair, I recommend arriving early to secure a parking spot close to the brewery. We were there around 4 on a Thursday so we were the only ones to be able to get a handicapped parking which is near the building. Once you're inside, you'll find a spacious taproom with a large bar and plenty of seating. There is also a small outdoor patio, which is a great place to enjoy a beer on a nice day. The staff seemed aloof, a 1st from a brewery, was it the wheelchair in the Steel City? I enjoyed the Double Lustra. It is a DIPA brewed with Citra and Amarillo hops and has an ABV of 8.5%. The flavor is dank citrusy, with notes of tangerine, grapefruit, pine. The beer has a smooth, creamy mouthfeel and a long, lingering finish. Double Lustra is a limited release beer. It was no surprise this is a well made beer which tastes like other delicious DIPAs, hoppy juicy, a great one beer spot. Overall, Dancing Gnome is a great place to enjoy a craft beer in Pittsburgh. However, the parking can be a challenge, so I recommend arriving early if you are coming in a wheelchair. I did not encounter any challenges that led to the entrance from where we were at.
Really nice venue with a cute outdoor area. Everyone was friendly and the place was clean. I can't have carbonated beverages, so a brewery is not typically a fun place for me. They did have one non carbonated option a vodka cocktail in a can. That doesn't seem like much, but most places have nothing, so I'll take it. One star off for limited parking and nearly every seat without a back (my personal pet peeve).
I've known of Dancing Gnome for years, and finally a friend and I decided to check it out. I'm so glad we did! Dancing Gnome located in Sharpsburg has both indoor and outdoor seating, which I definitely appreciated; it would have been too hard to talk with my friend in the busy indoor area (which had both full tables and folks stopping in buy beer to take home). Rather than fighting to make ourselves heard, we got comfortable under some shade at an outdoor bench. Drink wise, the only in house brew I sampled was the Tentacle Squad an IPA with tropical fruit undertones. I also had a can of Arsenal Cider, as I admit that I'm not a regular beer drinker, nor am I an IPA diehard (which Dancing Gnome specializes in). I know, I know: what was I doing at a brewery, especially this one, if I'm neither a frequent beer drinker or an IPA diehard? Well, in addition to always being open to trying out a local brewery at least once, my friend and I wanted to taste some of the food that was available that afternoon! Dancing Gnome doesn't have a kitchen, but it does host food trucks. The big draw last weekend was Blowfish BBQ, and boy were they a treat. My friend and I ordered a brisket sandwich and their brisket mac and cheese. Oh man. I had sampled food from Blowfish BBQ before, but a full meal was next level both the brisket and the mac were perfect! I left full and happy, and I'd definitely come back to the Dancing Gnome in the future. I love the vibes here, I actually want to try their German Gose, and I'd love to pair it with some great treats from another food truck...or from Blowfish BBQ if I happen to catch them again!
The Dancing Gnome is a very friendly brewery located in the heart of Sharpsburg. They moved into a well lit and open space. Today, they had two different food trucks on their property. With seating inside and outside, there's plenty of room for you and your friends. They have a nice selection of beers, theirs and it looked like they had some guest breweries to choose from too.
Top notch brewery! They have a screen playing sports in case you're wondering (like I was). Alongside excellent IPA's they have $12 4 packs for take home, I got two! Go dance with your Gnome
