The Margarita was nearly tasteless. Nice wine list and good prices. The pozole needed to be heated more, otherwise OK, greasy tacos dreadful. A beet salad was excellent. Not a more-ish restaurant for us.
The location is stunning, but our experience was mixed. For some reason, the hostess seated us near the kitchen, although there were a bunch of better tables open with a better view. We should have asked to switch tables immediately as our waiter was also mediocre. He spilled a glass of ice water down by husband's back almost immediately, which made it tough to enjoy the meal. Although he apologized once, he made light of it a few times. The manager ended up giving us a discount and apologized on behalf of the restaurant, which was nice but it would have been better had she come out earlier in the meal. The food overall was pretty good but uneven. We probably would not go back, although maybe we'd give it another shot for the view.
After a little kerfuffle about a mixed up reservation, the staff worked quickly to get us a table that had a great view. Having ocean views from three sides, makes this a spectacular restaurant for a sunset meal. To top it off, the whales were active! Our server was amazing! Unfortunately, I don't recall his name, but he had a sense of humor. He was attentive. He had excellent knowledge of the menu and quickly had an overdone pork chop replaced with a medium. The menu is Latin inspired with plenty of choices for everyone. Rave reviews for the pork chops, the salmon and the chili relleno. Hot handmade tortillas were served for the table. Cocktails were excellent with the appropriate amount of alcohol. Desserts of mud pie and flan were outstanding and shareable. We are locals who love to take visitors here. Be sure you have a reservation for this very popular restaurant!
April, server, was excellent! Great recommendations, communicative, and didn't feel rushed. The cocktails were flavorful and great wine choices. The pork chop was cooked to perfection and had the best flavor. The halibut was really good. The mud pie was decadent! Highly recommend.
We took our party of 7 (5 month old baby and 6 adults) to Ventana's to celebrate my daughter's birthday. The view was amazing, food delicious and our service was perfect! Lauren was very attentive and efficient with her friendly and kind service. We especially enjoyed the following items: carne asada nachos, salmon caesar, halibut, flat iron steak, fish and chips, homemade tortillas and the yummy butter, as well as three different desserts: flan, mud pie and fried ice cream. Highly recommend this restaurant for a delicious meal with a spectacular view of the ocean from the cliffs.
