Freelance Cafe Wine - PIERMONT

Freelance is a small upscale restaurant with a friendly staff that strives to please its customers. The food was quite good, with the Pommes frites salads standing out as exceptional, and everything else was enjoyable as well. However, sometimes in their efforts to accommodate one guest, it can make others feel uncomfortable. We arrived with friends and were seated next to a table that had a large dog (around 75-85 lbs). While we all love dogs, one of our party members had an allergy. Although the dog was well-behaved, it still caused that guest to have an allergic reaction, which affected our evening. It felt like the staff were overly focused on that particular guest and didn't consider the comfort of others.

Absolutely fantastic! The rack of lamb was expertly prepared and accompanied by polenta (which had gorgonzola!) and broccolini. The fresh beet salad was bursting with flavor. The service was efficient and friendly, all within a cozy atmosphere. It was genuinely a 5-star experience! We were too stuffed for dessert, so we settled the reasonably priced bill and left. However, after we crossed the street, the manager called out to us and approached with a plate of cinnamon pecan triangles, freshly baked by the restaurant, to give us a sweet treat to conclude our meal. It was the perfect ending to an outstanding dining experience!

Quaint little restaurant in Piermont. This spot consistently delivers perfectly portioned dishes with a definite French touch. You can expect a light creaminess in the sauces, but never overwhelming. The mussels are amazing—definitely some of the best! And don’t miss out on the pulpo; it’s a must-try!
