Then why do they call it a vegetarian-veganese Japanese restaurant? no nice experience. updated by previous review on 2021-10-13
If you are a vegan or vegetarian, proceed with caution when dining at this restaurant. Despite calling itself a Vegan/Vegetarian restaurant under the name Veg Life and identifying as a Japanese Vegan Restaurant on their Facebook page, the menu is not entirely vegan nor vegetarian. Our group ordered Teriyaki Chicken under the assumption that it would be made with plant-based alternatives like mushrooms, soy, or tofu commonly found in other vegetarian/vegan establishments. To our surprise, we received real chicken in our dish, only realizing this after taking a bite. After confirming with the restaurant, they acknowledged the mistake, apologized, and recommended contacting them before placing future orders. This discrepancy raises questions about why they advertise as a vegetarian/vegan Japanese restaurant when this is not consistently reflected in their menu offerings. Overall, it was not a positive experience.
Today I ordered my lunch online for delivery and unfortunately, out of the 4 pieces of meat or fish in my meal, I received 3. This was a disappointing experience, especially since the restaurant is supposed to be vegan. It was quite sad.
Be cautious when dining at this restaurant if you are a vegan or vegetarian. Despite calling themselves Veg Life and claiming to be a Japanese vegan restaurant on their Facebook page, the menu is not completely vegan or vegetarian. When ordering the Teriyaki Chicken, we expected it to be made with vegan ingredients like mushrooms, soy, or tofu, as is common in other vegan restaurants. However, our dish contained real chicken, which we only realized after taking a bite. After contacting the restaurant, they confirmed the mistake and apologized, suggesting we call ahead next time to clarify our dietary preferences. This raises the question of why the restaurant advertises itself as a vegetarian vegan Japanese restaurant when they do not consistently offer vegan or vegetarian options. Overall, it was not a pleasant dining experience.
Today, I ordered my lunch online for delivery and was disappointed to find that 3 out of the 4 items I received contained meat or fish. This was particularly disappointing as the restaurant markets itself as vegan. A rather unpleasant experience overall.
