The proximity to the Philippsburg nuclear power plant may disturb one or the other, but it does not really impair the overall impression of the situation. The restaurant itself consists of a spacious interior with space for approx. 130 people and an outdoor area on a sun terrace situated almost on the first floor for approx. 100 guests. A lot of dark wood was processed throughout the plant, which gives the whole a very rustic and powerful impression. A generous outdoor area offers more than enough parking. I visited the restaurant with the use of the own camping site as an intermediate night during a folding boat tour on the Rhine Operation: Friendly staff quickly accepts drinks and food requests. Unfortunately, however, the organization seems rather unperfect. I was asked twice more about what I had ordered because the lady had probably confused my order with another one. And in the side table, so much was wrongly served that the boss personally apologized for the inconvenience. However, he did this very professionally, offered the guests a drink to the house and thus saved the situation in agreement. The food: I ordered a seafood salad as an appetizer, and then a pizza Quattro Staggione, pikant. The salad was very delicious, with the desired acidity and many herbs. The pizza could also convince her that she had the few millimetres more ground, still far away from an American “pizza cake”, but not quite as crisp as you have to experience it again and again. The coating was rich, and above all the pizza surface was not “wet”. Overall a positive impression. The ambience: As already described in the introduction text, you will find quite a favour at the ambience of the boathouse. Situated in a quiet environment, outdoors in nature, and the restaurant itself very cozy, the ambience can easily be rated above average Cleanliness: Everything looks clean and neatly maintained
