The Family - Phetchaburi

To begin, I saw other reviews say that this was a local restaurant and there were negative points. Where? Local to those living in Cha Am? Considering that it's at Cha Am Beach, I'd be a chance that it's not local that most people come here. Some reviewers are complete Numptys. You can not expect this on the same level as a fine dining area. Go on. Whatever. The food here is great. We ordered oysters, mussels, octopus and beef. Everything was a great tasting. The seafood sauce with the oysters was particularly excellent and after 8 years living in Thailand I was a new recipe. Service was also very good in fact, with not much waiting to arrive at the dishes. I was very happy to see a menu that had an English version and a Thai version, but with the same prices. Anyone visiting Thailand will probably see that this is actually unusual. Thai menus are usually cheaper. Look, that's not a good meal. It's not 5 stars luxury. That's it. Good, fresh food, well cooked and good tasting. No retreat to this place. The cost of our order was 1020 Baht, which contained 3 large beers. I live in Bangkok and I would just pay the same price there, but the food would not be to this standard. Try it when you're in the Cha Am Beach area.

We have lived all over Thailand for eight hours, and this is one of the best Thai food we've ever had. Every dish was perfect!

The Family is a typical Thai style restaurant with simple furniture and style. I had a soup Tom Kha Gai which I thought was too sweet and not up to standard. My friend had Tom Yam Gung which he liked!!! I tried his soup and also would not give a good rating. The soup was each 150 B for the small size (which I wouldn't consider small! without rice. I think this is not cheap considering the simple place.
