Firehouse Subs Colonial Heights

Fri. Apr. 15th wife and I stop and grabbed two subs for dinner to go. Cajun chicken sub had four small strips of Cajun chicken, a medium sub, I was disappointed. Sandwich looked nothing like the Cajun chicken on the menu. Not surprise but, four little pieces of chicken

Sanitation is not their focus. Walked up and saw an employee outside taking a smoke break. She came in and never washed her hands. I know because I'm a bit of a germaphobe and wanted to make sure she didn't jump in on making my sandwich. It's always a very young crew. No hair nets ever. The place has never struck me as super clean. There was an off duty employee who kept walking over to where they were making the subs showing an on duty employee his phone and it was over the food several times. FYI you defeat the purpose of wearing gloves if you are touching everything in the world including your face. I won't be back.

Ordered club sub they did not put bacon on and when I asked gave me a cup of cold bacon. I asked for it to be heated and was treated badly.

This entire experience was a disaster. I placed my $40 order for 2 sub combos, for 1:50 and arrived right then. When i arrived I was not greeted or spoken to at all, the employees were just talking behind the counter. I proceeded to wait 10 minutes *after my pickup time* only to receive 2 very poorly made sandwiches. The first had the wrong cheese, the bread was hard and overcooked, and had half the portion of toppings as usual. The second sub also had hard bread, while this had the correct cheese, it had no pickles, and the tomatoes tasted like cleaning supplies. After choking down a quarter of my sub i had to throw it away along with my $40. Would not recommend.

I had not had a Firehouse Sub in a very long time. Honestly wish I had not got the taste for it after I started eating it. It was a little too messy, plus i asked for an extra pickle with each which did not happen. Got home and I did not even have a pickle with the sandwich. So actually I only got the 2 I asked for when picking up the order. 2 young kids preparing the food with no mask plus it just doesn’t feel or look clean. No more Firehouse Sub for me from that location.
