Don Lalos Mexican Restautan - Paris

Great food, good service and cold beer in frozen mugs! Good Texmex. Hard to go wring here!

We were returning from a Thanksgiving weekend trip to Houston and had planned to try Alex's Mexican Tacos, in Paris TX. The business address was listed as 1545 Lamar Ave, which is incorrect!!! After driving up and down Lamar a couple of times we gave up and called. They are at a different location and we didn't want to spend more time trying to find them. While driving along Lamar my wife spotted Don Lalo's. It was 2:15 pm and there were about 6 cars outside. So we tried it. There were about 10 to 12 diners inside and several more came in while we were eating. I rate the food as good. My wife had enchiladas. I had the Pollo Merida, a grilled chicken breast covered in white queso. I like spicy hot salsa and theirs wasn't too bad. I would eat there again and recommend it to a friend. The food is good the service is a little slow. The cashier was also waiting some tables and that was not his best skill. Note: This review was originally posted on Tripadvisor by Spike S.

Travel for work so I always have to check out mexican restaurants. This is the second place I visit in this town and they both have the same menu. I ordered fajitas rancheras. Not what I was expecting in other words yuk! Ended up eating only the beans and rice w/ the chips. Didn't care too much for the corn tortillas.

I went with a friend last night. I thought that the staff was friendly and super helpful, as my friend was trying to order a chocolate martini, although they didn't have all of the ingredients. The waitress could've easily just told her that they didn't serve that, but she patiently improvised with her and had the bartender make something similar. It tasted pretty close. I got a cold corona--always refreshing, and a taco salad with extra queso sauce. They brought out a big bowl of it, so I had enough for my salad and for my friend I to dip our chips in. All in all, very good food and excellent service.

We found this place by accident. We loved the place. It was quiet, and the wait staff was very nice. The food was great. We will be back. Thank you.
