Pioneer Cafe - PALISADE

I visited this restaurant with friends on a Sunday afternoon after church. It had just reopened after being closed for a few years under new ownership. It's a fantastic local spot that was bustling with happy customers, most of whom seemed to know each other. The food may not be gourmet, but the portions were generous and the prices very reasonable. If I remember correctly, the lunch special was only $6.99 and included lemon pepper chicken, a baked potato, a salad, vegetables, and rhubarb cake. I truly hope they thrive. The special was posted on a little whiteboard on the wall. This was my first experience at a genuine small-town café in Nebraska, and I absolutely loved it.
