Freedom - PALERMO

We came here by chance and were welcomed by the friendly service personnel. The menu looked good value (Pasta around 7, Pizza around 8, . Staff was happy to recommend us stuff off the menu we should have asked for the price! We asked for a bottle of house wine and got a fairly good white wine, then we asked for another bottle and got a different, but still good wine. In the end, the conto was 102 € for 4 people. The pizzas that were not on the menu were at 10, (ok, they had rucola and parma ham on them , but the house wine was at 20, per bottle. We told the waitress that we were surprised by 20 € for a bottle of house wine. Her answer was tell tale: Oh, it 's not a house wine, we don 't even have house wine. Well, we do have our Italian in order so we do recall what we ordered, thank you. 20 € for a mediocre white wine is definitely too much in Palermo and the way in which we were deliberately made to choose stuff without a price on the menu makes me feel that this was just another rip off. A pity considering the really good food.
