I ordered the outer fillets served on a potato rust. After I explained my celiac condition to the waiter, the chef prepared a delicious dish presented in separate bowls. It was wonderful to experience such thoughtful service from people who truly understand the importance of going the extra mile to make you feel at home. Well done—excellent!

The ambiance is stunning, the food is tasty, and the milkshakes are incredible! I highly recommend it for breakfast or lunch. They have the best chips in the Western Cape!

We went looking for a light meal and good cup of coffee and found this beautiful remote place. The love and attention brought by the baker and her staff into meals and hospitality was tangible, and the passion for baking was gentle through cheese cakes baked in the delicious melt-in-your-mouth with blueberry and cherry-comonie, and the delicate, buttery cinnamon bunk we enjoyed for dessert. The bakery coffee shop is a relatively new addition to De Avond Rust, but deserves a great support and is definitely worth visiting for every demanding confectionery enthusiast. Breakfast Full Soutie) was great, along with home baked bread and really delicious sweet potatoes. We're coming back!
