Heart & Crown - Ottawa

There are many pubs in the Byward Market area, but we found this one to be one of the most lively, serving decent beer, and with great service.

Fun place with live music and dancing. When everything else is dead there will be some people here to coif a libation with - recommended as popular over 25 year old place

Two friends and I went to eat here for dinner for our friends 30th birthday. Service was horrible we were not giving water and when we asked for water only one glass was brought. We had to ask for more water once we finished our glass but it never came. One of my friends ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and her wrap had basically no chicken in it. The beef stew was very good and the grilled cheese and tomato soup was very good also. When manager came he handle the situation well discounted a drink off and also didn't charge for the wrap.

Hubby and I went downtown for lunch and chose this restaurant based on past experiences here.Kristen, the young lady who took care of us, was spectacular. She was very engaging, and appeared for follow-up and really looked like she was having a great time at work.Food was superlative!

Dinner on the patio on a Friday afternoon - perfect for people-watching in the Byward Market area. Great service - Thanks to Val and Val-in-training. Unfortunately had to move inside due to approaching thunderstorm. Loved the White Sangria on a hot afternoon. The Fresh Market Burger was great. Fries were nice and crisp, not greasy, but seemed to have gotten the bottom of the deep fryer...many small pieces rather than longer fries. My friend had the Lamb Burger and rice side dish - good although not exceptional. Overall, a very pleasant experience.
