There's table food and seat that you can eat your own food. The area is just near the canal so if you are tired walking along the canal you may rest in here. There's also chocholates sold in here, mostly are only sold in Otaru.
The only spacious free resting place in otaru. Shaded patio with beer and tea.
Nice place to look at the past history of Otaru with many old photos and the equipments used then and the ancient ship. A good place to take a leisure walk inside and to buy some local snacks and sovereign too. Also to take a seat for a bite to rest awhile. The toilets are very clean and very well maintained as compared to the untidy and smelly public toilet at the Otaru Canal! Notice that even do not buy a drink or snack the staff allow the people to sit at the seats for awhile!
Consider it a resting stop--get drinks, snacks, or using toilets. of course, the staff is friendly to take questions.
