This place has a fantastic view over looking the 9th hole green and Clear Lake. The restaurant is in the original log cabin clubhouse and is beautiful. Best restaurant atmosphere anywhere in Clear Lake.Food? Was brilliant on last visit. Filet was cooked to perfection , tender and very flavourful.Braised beef in Yorkshire pudding was delicious. It's an appetizer, that's definitely a meal. I had the beet salad with it (which is not a meal) that was amazing. Couldn't even start on the second Yorkshire pudding.Finished it off with the chocolate ganache cheesecake which was excellent.Best view in town, food was 5 star, great service, ALL for just over $100( not including tip) makes this one of my best dining experiences ever in Clear Lake.Check it out for yourself, you will be in for amazing dining experience.Make a reservation early for a window table to enjoy the spectacular scenery. We brought our own wine for a $20 corkage fee.
The 45th (or so) almost-consecutive 'Rodych Family Sort-of-Reunion' is happening in again in Riding Mountain National Park, celebrating Canada's 150th birthday this year. And with some of the family home from San Diego, and the usual suspects from Saskatoon and Winnipeg, we've convened for the usual gorgeous week of fun at the 'Boulingrin' (for cut-throat lawn-bowling), the incredible golf course, shopping, mani's and pedi's at the adjacent spa for the ladies, and, of course, 40-plus kinds of evening ice creams at The Boardwalk beside Clear Lake. Perfect!A highlight is always the Family Dinner. As has been the case for a few years now, this year it was at 'Clubhouse 204' overlooking the 9th green. On a perfect hot summer night, light was reflecting off the lake into the interior of the expansive honey-coloured 1930's log walls and ceiling of the beautiful historic structure. It was not overly full, not noisy, very comfortable, and our corner table came with an absolutely perfect view over the course and the lake. From the Salmon Supreme (in phylo pastry [one of which was slightly more done than desired]) to the tender Pork Medallions (with amazing orange-cranberry-candied-parsnip dressing), every meal recipient reported they were extremely happy with their meals. Back ribs and short ribs falling off the bones, perfectly done vegetables (not an easy thing for 7 people who love their veggies!), robust ("real!!!") garlic mashed potatoes...everything paired with Mission Ridge 'Reserva' Chardonnay and Shiraz. A splendid meal, much appreciated by every one of the 7 of us. Capped off another perfect day in paradise. Thanks to the excellent skills of the chefs in the kitchen, and the great local servers who looked after us well. We'll be coming back, most of us, for the 46th next year, and have every reason to expect another half-dozen or so perfect meals at Clubhouse 204.
Beyond expectations. The dishes served could be presented at any 5 star establishment in any city. Even if the food isn't exotic the preperation was absolutely superb. The presentation and plating were also appetizing. Vegetables were roasted to perfection, mashed potatoes were moist and flavorful. I had the schnitzel which was not greasy, but not dry. My wife had the stuffed chicken which had some outside the box flavors. A must try, worth the drive from Wasagaming. In my opinion its better than any other establishment in town.
I had high expectations for this place after reading so many great reviews. The views are stunning. Unfortunately, due to a private function that was just wrapping up as we arrived, we did not get a table at the window. I ordered the short rib and my husband the pickerel. Both were presented beautifully. The short rib was OK. It was not as tender as I anticipated. I actually had to use a knife on a piece of meat that typically can be cut with a fork if braised correctly. It also seemed bland. The entire plate lacked flavor. I was expecting a deep, rich flavor to this dish, I wish I would have tried the stuffed chicken. My husband's fish was cooked perfectly. But yet again seemed a little under seasoned. Overall it was a good meal. But when your paying $30 a plate the expectations are high. For the price I expected a GREAT meal. The wine prices were absurd. Service was top notch and very pleasant and the location is spectacular, but I'm not sure we would return for dinner.
