Pansitas - Castelo Branco

The food is overall good. I would say, if you want a clear victory go for the grilled meat. This second time the octopus rice was excelent but the chicken curry not so much. The service is on the level with a crowded restaurant: it might take time and you may have to ask 2 times for the same request. Overall good. 6 people with great meal, 3 wine, beer, waters, deserts, coffee, cheirinho and moscatel 21€ Personally, I might go back!

Pancitas is set Queluz in a residential area where you would not go unless you knew it was there. Nothing to look at here, huge open room, no acoustic concerns so it is a nightmare to try and have a conversation here especially because the venue is preferred by big groups. Now about the food, it is excellent! The portions are humongous but every single dish had flavor and it was cooked to perfection. It’s worth to try if you can get over the noise.

And that's pretty much it. The staff is nice and helpful, the food is fine and served in large quantities (a 1/2 serving is enough for two people) and though it's technically well executed we found it lacking in seasoning, which kind of defeats the purpose of serving a large amount. Other than that, the decoration is simple and bland but the place enjoys a spectacular panoramic view of the hills the restaurant faces. The staff should consider place the tables sideways so that all the guests could enjoy the view instead of only half of them. The ticket system is also archaic and doesn't fit (they could as easily take names instead). The restaurant attracts a large amount of customers in spite of what we've described, so it's recommended to arrive early to avoid having to wait for a table to be vacated. It's not an expensive place, all considered, but we feel that there's a lot of wasted potential.
