The Royal Windsor Pub - Oakville

I come here often for dinner and food is good but this time thought I'd try the fish and chips. Worst fish and chips I've ever eaten. The fries are good but the fish isn't deep fried there. It's frozen and then cooked. You can taste that it's been frozen and then heated. The outside isn't crispy at all. I could not eat it so I brought it home, removed the batter and added it to the dog's kibble.

I'm part of 2 couples that meet here for dinner on Thursday nights around 5:30 pm. For the last couple of months the owner thinks that having 1 waitress every evening is enough. He's wrong. This poor waitress is being run off her feet. The place has so many people so it's not like he can't afford to hire another to help her. Service is so slow. From waiting for her to take our order to getting the food or asking for something like vinegar, etc. and then waiting for the bill, it has become a painful experience. She is running around and doing her best. We enjoy the food and the atmosphere but if the owner decides that he wants to be this cheap then it will be at the expense of his customers. This is the 3rd time we've been in about 4 weeks and the same each time. We discussed over dinner (since we had a lot of time waiting) where we will start going instead. Sad to say that the 4 of us won't be coming back.

Wow wow wow! This establishment is the best by far, location, food, cleanliness and staff are just a small compliment to a customer who loves to be treated as a customer! Always a great time amongst the great patrons and their stories. Sit at the bar or private dine, play pool or darts whatever you like it’s there at the Royal Winsor. Love this pub. Visit frequently and the food is good and reasonably priced. Lamb curry with basmati rice naan bread delicious, as is the fish n chips and the chicken stir fry ...and the liver...and the pot pie...I could go on and on..

We all had a great meal. Someone had recommended the Butter Chicken and it was excellent. Wonderful beer as usual. Service good and the tables well spaced.
