Food was really good.Service was great as well.Place is nice overall. Ideal for a date night.Maybe they should introduce some good music to bring in a nice vibe.Parking: Parking is free after 6pm. But there are limited spots on The Queensway. You can try to park in the inner streets. Do watch out for driveways and no parking zones though. As an alternate option Cineplex and Costco are nearby too.
TLDR Below average food, good dine in service, nice casual dine in venue. It is almost unfair to rate Sushi 2 Go so low, because ultimately it is an easy fix except it costs the profit margin. But a spade per lunch today is still a spade. We had a late lunch at Sushi 2 Go. By the name, one would expect a place that focuses on take out, and would not expect such a decent dine in area. The place was clean, sunny, had contemporary tables. In short it is a good casual lunch place. There was only one chef and one server/cashier when we arrived. The service was good: efficient and polite, tea was refilled and dirty dishes were promptly removed. Miso soup was delicious, and salad was super fresh. Up to this point I was expecting to enjoy a nice lunch. Sushi arrived and plating looked good. One bite in and the disappointment started. First up soy sauce and wasabi were bland. I double checked by eating them straight and confirmed both were too diluted. The fish was fresh but sliced so thin that it didn't taste. Rice was good and delicious. Frankly, the food was fresh, so the potential to be good is there. But the management cut costs by slicing the fish too thin and diluting the condiments too much. I know it is a catch 22 game, meaning the business needs a gross margin to survive, but I am not sure they could build volume with this food quality.
I’ve never seen a sushi restaurant try to cover up the lack of fish meat by drenching the rolls with sauce and tempura bits. This is what I got when I ordered a spicy crispy salmon roll… it looks like minced salmon meat (maybe) mixed with tempura bits. It crumbled when eating it. I asked the server if maybe they ran out of solid salmon pieces, but she insisted this was the standard quality for this roll at this restaurant. The tuna lovers roll wasn’t any better. Very dissatisfying.
Had the beef ribs here, they were incredible plus the service was
