But times have changed. We were seated in quite a soul less room which had a large and distracting, television. The staff I h!ave to say were very good and attentive. The afternoon tea when it came was disappointing, there was no wow factor and looked very meagre. Because I am a veggie I had my own cake stand and one less sandwich than my carnivore companions. The shot glass with a cream concoction was lovely but the spoon given is too big to go into the glass. The cakes tasted very nice but there was nothing special about them, a thin slice of madeira, a thin slice of brownie and a minute offering of flap jack. The shortbread biscuit was nice though. The scones resembled biscuits and were quite hard. Clotted cream was nice though. All in all not an unpleasant afternoon but not nice enough to tempt me back again.
This is a wonderful spot for couples or families to gather. The food selection is excellent, with many delicious options to choose from. It is also a lovely place to spend the night.
We dined at this restaurant yesterday (Sunday) and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The food was delicious, especially the cheesy cauliflower dish. The only downside was the behavior of some other guests who were dining at two medium-sized tables nearby. Their rudeness towards the hardworking and professional staff was quite disappointing. One guest even resorted to snapping his fingers for attention while the staff were busy serving another table, which I found very rude. Despite this, the food was excellent and the staff provided great service. We will definitely be returning in the future, hopefully without encountering any unpleasant guests. Keep up the good work.
I recently attended an event in one of the spacious rooms at this restaurant, which was beautifully decorated. The service was good, with friendly and helpful staff. However, I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the food. The soup was watery and bland, the bread was hard, and the lamb I ordered was fatty and stringy. Another diner at my table even had a piece of string around their meat. The vegetables were undercooked, the roast was burnt and drenched in gravy, and the dessert was also lacking in flavor. I've dined here before and had delicious meals, but unfortunately, this time was a letdown.
Booked a table to eat here in the restaurant but what a let down. After pulling up outside the hotel it looked like a dark run down place. We got inside to the reception and no-one was there or anywhere around to greet us or give the way to get into the restaurants so we just had to choose a way to walk. The corridors looked like a construction site as the walls were just plaster and boarded doors. We found The Adderley restaurant and let me tell you it looks nothing like the pictures provided. It was small, dim and basically looked and felt just a room with tables and chairs laid out to try and look like a restaurant. I was very tempted to go (as two other people did when we were waiting for our food) but I thought to stay as the food was mainly why we come as the menu sounded nice. The waitress was the only good thing, well mannered and always making sure to see if everything was OK with the drinks and food. The food you only had to blink and it was gone the portions were so small after we ate we had to get a takeaway as it felt like we didn't even eat. Wouldn't have minded that the portions were small if the food was like Michelin/tasty meals but it was too basic. Overall I would not recommend.
