Contribuiți la feedbackSimple, no frills greek pizzeria. Been here several times and it's always pretty good. Pizzas seem small for their respective title sizes. If you go on the weekend, try the baked stuffed grouper! French onion soup is fantastic too!
We happened upon this restaurant while visiting from out of town. Decor is dated, but the service is warm and friendly Joanne was our server, and she was fabulous! The menu is massive we LOVED the pot roast and the white pizza DELICIOUS! We loved it so much, in fact, that we made a return visit (for the same order) before heading home. Two thumbs up!
I ordered a chicken club it was sooo dry so over seasoned. I grew up in Agawam and thought I would try them again since it has been years since I ate there. Very disappointing.
While at Six Flags New England, I began Googling to see vegan options in the area ... which were very limited. All of us were very hungry after spending the entire day at the park and I didn 't want to eat dinner there. The Parthenon Restaurant is close enough to the park, a few minutes ' drive. I was concerned as we approached after parking the car; from the exterior it looks like a bar, not appropriate for children. We also noticed the parking lot was full at 9:00 pm on a Saturday night so we decided to give it a shot. We were not disappointed! We were seated at a booth, which is always preferable because it limits the escapes routes for our ASD son. The restaurant was just loud enough that we were part of the bustle, but not so loud our son would cover his ears. Toward the end of the meal our son left the table and sat across from us, which was fine because that table was empty. We usually have to give him 'space ' after he finishes his meal (before we do). The kids menu had very good options. Both of them ordered the cheese ravioli. The serving was larger than the 3x-priced adult serving we would get in Brooklyn. And they came with drinks and a side! I believe they were $5 or $6 each. Just for the kids menu, it is worth going back. Our son ordered mashed potatoes; they were gone in an instant. Our daughter didn 't want a side, so I ordered a sweet potato (for me); it tasted like candy. The table was also served a basket of hot bread. I know I should stay away from that, since it was white bread, but I could not control myself. I think I had three rolls. Vegan Mom ordered angel hair primavera with marinara sauce; I believe it was $13, and it came with a side salad. The primavera plate was obscene; its diameter was about the same as a basketball. On top of the pasta was the largest sections of zucchini I 've ever seen. Now I am a huge eater; my problem is portion control. I usually eat whatever I am served, 100%. At the Parthenon I was only able to eat 1/2 of the pasta at that point. The only suggestion I would make is perhaps the restaurant could offer whole wheat pasta as an option? I ate white pasta because that was the only option there. I noticed all of the plates here are massive. In fact, even our kids were laughing at the plates as they emerged from the kitchen. Service was great. Our waitress asked how dinner was and I honestly answered Voluminous ! My husband ordered pork parmesan with cole slaw. He could not finish it. He is also a 100% eater. The pork bone on his plate resembled a giant protractor. I know you don 't eat this anymore, he said, but this is incredible . My husband usually orders mozzarella sticks whenever we go to an Italian style restaurant, but the waitress suggested he order the mozzarella balls, which are a house special. Our son loved them. The bill for the four us, including a glass of wine for me (sorely needed after Six Flags) was less than $72. Insane!
Five stars should be given to an establishment that performs exceptionally well at what they are supposed to do. Parthenon earned five stars. With my first visit, I was impressed with this place. Friendly people when you first walk in, clean and open environment but still cozy. Dinner was hot and tasty, salads very generous and the service was great! The owner has known my grandmother-in-law for many years and brought over an appetizer for us, on the house! What a nice gesture. 4 dinners, 2 appetizers, 2 wines, only $75. Great value! I will definitely make this a more frequent spot! Great job!
