Sugar Bowl Resort - Norden

I enjoyed a complimentary gondola ride today! I’m not sure if it’s always free, but a friend mentioned the gondola is no charge, so I decided to check it out at the resort. Afterward, I had a lovely cocktail hour on the deck. I haven't skied here yet, but getting the free gondola ride was definitely a nice bonus!

I had the opportunity to visit after the 2023 storm, and it was amazing! There was so much snow, and it was a beautiful day to ski and snowboard. My husband rented a snowboard, and I thought it was really neat how they size it based on your height. The cafeteria prices were a bit high, but I decided to try the chili cheese fries, and they were incredibly delicious after a long day on the slopes. This resort is lovely; I’ll definitely be back!

This resort is significantly smaller than Vail, but not quite as small as Soda Springs. I was pleasantly surprised by how close it was. The snow quality in the morning was great! However, by the end of the day, when temperatures climbed to around 37°F, the snow became quite slushy. The cruiser runs were a bit longer, and I encountered a black diamond sign that confused me—its only challenging aspect was that it hadn't been groomed; if it had been, it would have easily qualified as a blue square. I spent very little time waiting in line, which was a plus. Unfortunately, Crow's Peak was closed. Despite being a smaller resort with shorter waits, I'm undecided about returning, as it doesn't participate in any major multi-resort passes (like Ikon or Epic), though it is part of the Mountain Collective, which is a smaller resort pass.

Yesterday all lifts were closed. Today only 2 are open. They refused to refund or postpone our lift tickets. What a shame. Will never go there again.

Was very excited to get back on the slopes after a few years, and took the kiddos for lessons. Big shout to Henry Nichole at lessons, Phoenix Mika at rentals, and David, Sicily, Dr Lee at Medical : . Staff was amazing and the resort was beautiful! Absolutely will return again as resort of choice. Everybody had a great time, all thanks to the amazing people that work here.
