Newtown Thai 2 Express

Delicious. I believe this is one of the top Thai restaurants in Newtown. The Penang curry is exceptional.

I went to this restaurant on Monday evening for dinner. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The waitress spoke English very well.

The lunch at this restaurant is a great deal, ranging from $6 to $8 for a delicious and sizable portion. Just be aware that there is another restaurant with the same name located at the other end of King Street.

Great, cheap and tasty thai food. Of all the Thai restaurants in Newtown, this is the one that we always come back to. The food is made right in front of you, and the portion sizes are generous. They have a really fantastic lunch menu too. And they aren't afraid to make the food spicy, if you ask for it.

My housemate and I eat here on a nearly weekly basis. Their lunches are a great deal, usually less than $7 for more food than a person has any right to be eating, and their regular dinner menu doesn't have a single bad item on it. The Pad Kee Mao is easily my favourite dish, but their Laksa is also formidable. Of the three Thai II restaurants on King, this is the best of a good bunch.
