Best buffalo chicken pizza I have ever had!!! After eating one from this savoy location, you will probably not want to try one anywhere else. It's that good!
RUDE RUDE RUDE! Called ahead to order and the person on the phone was impatient. Placed my order quickly based on my belief that this place must be busy. First time at Savoy after hearing great reviews. Arrived a few minutes early and decided that we needed at least one more pizza. Inquired about several other menu items and seemed to annoy the staff with questions. (I was the only customer there most of the time). Decided one more pizza was the way to go... However the guy making the pizza snapped back that the wait was 25 35 minutes and that he wouldn't put me ahead of other orders... Didn't ask at any time that he do that, but at this point it's pretty clear that the food my be great but the service is not! Disappointed and won't return. Pizza adequate but not amazing like we'd heard.
This is how a pizza should be done. Cheese, cheese, and more cheese covering delicious toppings spread over a crispy crust that is cut into perfect little squares of pizza goodness. The sauce has just enough spice that crushed red pepper is not nessicary. If your looking for a great pie you have found the spot. Take out only so find a place to enjoy and pig out.
One of my all-time favorite pizza places. I ordered from this location dozens of times over the years, and have chowed down at the Savoy in St. Paul a whole bunch too. Pizza is pretty consistently awesome and the service friendly. They have a sweet and slightly spicy sauce, tons of cheese, buckets of toppings and they know how to properly brown that pizza top! Yes, the crust is thin and does get soggy. To me, that hardly matters, I just tackle it with a knife and fork or just fold a slice like a taco. Not everyone will love this pizza First, the sauce does have added sugar. Also, it is not your dainty, tea party cracker crust pizza. Your hands will get greasy, your belly full, and your scale may groan under the added pressure the next morning. It is also on the expensive side, but when you hold the thing up and feel its heft, you will know why. A Twin Cities institution that should not be missed.
