Contribuiți la feedbackA wonderful experience at the Jory as per usual, never disappoints!
Food was quite good, but inconsistent. I had the albacore, which was seared and cool in the middle, as it should be, but somehow it was flavorless. It came with a grain side that was excellent, as was red cabbage. I cleaned my plate, but wouldn't order it again. My wife had a pork chop that was excellent cooked medium, juicy, and very flavorful. The poached pear with it was done just right, cooked, but still a bit of crunch. The pumpkin pie side was dense and flavorless. I didn't try the brussel sprouts, but they looked unappealing and dry and were left on the plate. Again, good food, but wouldn't order it again. The service was excellent attentive, but not intrusive, and earned a good tip. Ambiance was nice dark wood, good lighting, reasonably quiet. We were 15 min early for our reservation because we allowed extra time to get there in snow and ice, but were a bit put off when the hostess told us that they were sticking with the schedule and we'd have to wait to be seated. I would have understood if the restaurant was packed, but at least 1/3 of the tables were empty. Why couldn't they seat us and then delay us with a drink until we fit into their time frame? Anyway, we're glad we went, but won't be returning.
Christmas Eve lunch at The Jory was a delight. We went straight from a wonderful wine tasting at Hazelfern, literally just up the road. Appetisers of bacon avocado fritters, and cauliflower marcona soup were delicious. The jory burger and truffled fried got rave reviews, as did the farro and carrot salad. my entree was the chicken hazelnut pot pie absolutely sensational! Great service too!
This was our first visit to Jory. It is a very nice place. The service is the best I have seen. Our meals were good and the atmosphere is very nice.
Always love the Jory for the holidays. Beautifully decorated outside with lots of lights! Menu is quite small, but everything we ordered was perfection!
