Little Ruby's Cafe - New York City

The portions are really small. place is loud and usually crowded. the food is good and usually the employees are friendly and willing to do their job happily.

Highly recommend the Bronte Burger and Shrimp Pasta! Both were really good. The interior is cute and well decorated. It gets pretty crowded and small but it's nyc so can't complain

Very cute place and cool vibe. Service was wonderful and quick but maybe shouldn't be too quick. I ordered the creamy chicken pasta and my friend ordered the spicy vodka pasta. Both arrived about 5 minutes after ordering. Both pastas had great flavor (def recommend the spicy vodka! but the pasta itself was undercooked and chew-y, in our opinion. It was way too al dente for us. Maybe it's supposed to be like that LOL not sure but it wasn't our cup of tea. It wasn't too bad and was still edible so we didn't send it back. Portion size is okay, pretty standard. We were there for a total of 30-40 minutes. We would def come back to try other menu items!

Rubys has always been my first place to go in a brunch date! Lately service is incredibly sucks. Host set you up with a very tiny table to dine in for 2, With almost all available seats. The server was very nice at the first. Then the second server always push us to leave. Always check on us like, and bring up the check middle of the meal. Me and my boyfriend always like to have our coffee and the chocolate cake after the meal. She bring up the bill again after 3 mins we were drinking our coffee. We’ve paid the bill first. Then she start to ask if she can take the plate while I was eating. The service really shouldn’t be like that. I mean if there is a huge line ahead I really can finish my meal, but it’s pointless to push me while no one is waiting for an table.

Food was fine. The waiters were not kind, gave the impression that they didn’t want to be there, and took our order after 20 minutes of waiting. Everyone around us, who got there after us, ordered before us. It’s fine but if you are in a rush don’t go, or if you expect friendly service.
