My go to after going out if I’m in Manhattan. It’s consistently good and plates are big. I had the pernil and you can definitely share that with 2 people. I recommend order the tequeños as an appetizer! The pepito and the frita cubana are really good as well. Staff here is always so nice and the vibes are the place are immaculate. Im so glad they’re back to be open 24hrs. One of my fav spots in Chelsea.
The ambiance is amazing. But I was very upset with the food. It was delicious. Except the fact I ordered shrimp and grits and got. Mashed potatoes?!? Horrible. That def wasn't worth 28 dollars?!?! Idk if they thought because I was drinking that I wouldn't be able to tell. But def that was really messed up
Very good Cuban food available here. We went after work one day and there was no line. The ambience was good and our server was very fast and friendly. He gave several recommendations that we ended up taking which turned out very well. For drinks I got a gran paloma and my friend got the non alcoholic version of a different cocktail. They both tasted pretty fruity. I had asked to be recommended a sweet cocktail and the paloma definitely fit the bill. For food, we ordered two appetizers, the Gamabas Al Ajillo and another one I forgot the name of (a flat bread cake with filling). Both were delicious, though I'm not sure if I would get either again. For the entrees, we got the most popular items on the menu, the Lomo Saltado and Churrasco. I personally preferred the Churrasco, but both were very flavorful and the meat was very well prepared (despite the my friend asking for his steak to be well done). For value, I don't think it's that great. It's pretty pricey even though the food tasted good. We got happy hour drinks (I don't remember what the deal was), but the cocktails were still pricey (typical for NYC). We spent around $60 per person but were very full at the end.
We came here on a Saturday night and was lucky to see there were a couple tables that opened up. However, I think there was miscommunication between the host and us since she had us sit at the bar while the tables were getting cleaned. She then ended up sitting another couple at that table. We shrugged it off and decided to enjoy our evening at the bar top. For food we ordered the fish tacos, cheese burger, oxtail empanada, and a few drinks. The food was honestly okay. The hamburger bun and patty was dry; the side of fries was also burnt. The oxtail empanada was interesting; the insides were soft and full of flavor but the empanada shell also tasted/looked burnt. Looking at previous pictures I think that's just how it's always done? Between all the items, I'd say the fish tacos were the best. They gave just the right amount of fish to taco ratio, and topped it off with a favorable mayo sauce. Towards the end of our service, one of the servers had try sitting a new party of two where I was sitting while I had stepped away to use the bathroom. My boyfriend had told them someone was sitting there which caused the server to get upset and one of the other party members to get angry. Luckily one of bartenders told them there was someone sitting there. Overall, would I be back? Probably not. Service is awful; although I had hopped it was getting better. And food is average; at least with the items I ordered. Maybe the food choices were just a sad miss. I'd probably only come here for the drinks at that the bar top because the drinks were strong but tasteful. Also, we only really had good service from the bartenders.
