8p. Saturday night. we had our choice of seats and within 15 minutes most tables were full. we shared an arugula salad with apples and mangle, it was slightly refreshing. pencil auberginen parmesan were both prepared and tasteful. weeping on the glass are good value, we had a malbec montepulciano. tiramisu expresso finished the evening. we had a pleasant meal for a reasonable price. a victor! we're coming back.
Food was delicious. Waitstaff was friendly and helpful. But one guest had difficulty getting ice tea. The coffee machine was broken. There were only 2 desserts, both of which were dairy based which was a problem for 2 of the guests with lactose intolerance. If they can get everything in order, I think it will be a good neighborhood restaurant.
Cellar 58 was recommended by a friend who has traveled to Italy numerous times and knows good authentic Italian food. We were 5 people on a Sunday evening which is a great time to go because they don't open until 5:00 and it's not crowded. Our waiter and owner Paolo's service was outstanding. He made the overall experience a pleasure by recommending dishes, taking the time to explain items on the menu, and most of all...informing us that the Calamari did not meet the Chef's standards and would not serve it. We ordered several appetizers and pasta dishes, all of which were excellent. The Polenta Cakes were my favorite! My daughter had the Bucatini Amatriciana which she hasn't eaten since she studied in Rome last year and it was Spot On ! Can't wait to go back! The polenta cakes are calling me!
