Old Post Office Bagel Shop

If you're visiting Block Island, you absolutely must stop by the Post Office Bagel Shop. They serve delicious bagels that are perfectly baked, with a crispy exterior and a chewy interior. There's a fantastic selection of toppings, and I highly recommend the tomato and pesto cream cheese, all prepared in-house. It's a lovely spot to enjoy a breakfast sandwich—try their amazing bacon, egg, and cheese—or indulge in some delightful pastries with a cup of coffee. My wife and I make it a point to go there every morning while we're on the island. It's the perfect spot for people-watching at the intersection of Ocean, Water, Corn Neck, and Old Town Roads. Be sure to say hello to Bill, the owner, who has been running the bagel shop for 25 years. He’s a great guy! Just be sure to arrive early, as it tends to get busy. The food is so good that everyone who's been to Block Island knows it's the go-to place for the best bagels!

Decent food and friendly staff, but the proprietor, Bill, enjoys being rude and confrontational with his customers. There are better breakfast options across the street at the Cracked Mug or around the corner at Persephone's.

Recommended by a friend, the bagel sandwiches were excellent. Sit outside and watch the world go by. Maybe a little pricey, but that's the island.

If you want a hot chocolate it’s Swiss miss and hot water- no milk, cream or whipped cream here- the bare minimum. If you order food make sure they are making it and didn’t forget (even if you are the only person there! can’t make this stuff up and even if you repeat your order 5 times saying no onions- well the picture speaks for itself. Everyone is too busy on their phones… go to Aldo’s WAAAAY better service and bagels!

I tried the everything bagel with sun-dried tomato and pesto cream cheese, and it was excellent. The bagel had a nice chewy interior and a crispy exterior. I really enjoyed the cream cheese and might even try to recreate it at home. My dad had an egg and bacon sandwich on an everything bagel that was generously filled and very satisfying. My mom enjoyed her oatmeal topped with fresh fruit as well. I’ll definitely return next time I’m in the area for an early lunch or breakfast.
