The Melting Pot - New Orleans

WARNING: DO NOT COME HERE FOR DINNER AND ENTREES. DESSERT ONLY!! I REPEAT DO NOT COME HERE FOR DINNER! The Melting Pot is strictly a place you go to for some yummy fondue desserts! I came here for dinner once just to try it (been here for desserts before), and I tell you, NEVER AGAIN! The food is expensive and it just WILL NOT fill you up. The food is just NOT worth it. The desserts on the other hand...I LOVE FONDUE! It 's just something really fun to do when you have parties or if you 're just with a few people. We usually get the Flaming Turtle and Bananas Foster. Both are so yummyyyy! As dippers, they offer strawberries, bananas, rice krispie treats, cheesecake bits, marshmellows, brownies, and pound cake. Yes, you can easily do this at home on your own, but it 's always fun to go out for some fondue with friends! Service-wise, the waiters are always nice and informative. The ambience is nice and romantic. This restaurant is also located in a great area! It 's down St. Charles with a bunch of great restaurants to eat at before My advice? Eat at one of the nearby restaurants FIRST, then come by Melting Pot for dessert. There 's a good variety of restaurants to choose from down the street including Zea, Houston 's, Sushi Brothers, Miyako, Hoshun, etc. All in all, great place for fun and sweets, just not real food!

I LOVE the fondue at the Melting Pot. The drinks are great too. The house salad dressing is delicious. I always leave there full as a tick with a to-go box. Cheese, salad, entree and dessert is more than enough food. The Mojo cooking style is my favorite. Also the flaming turtle chocolate is great.

I've been here before a few times enjoyed it , although I feel it's way too pricey . But fun for a special occasion. Tonight was not good. Took my sister there for her bachelor party . Took 20 minutes to get a drink , the waiter (Raymond was terrible the whole night . No personality, never cracked a smile did the bare minimum for us (Probably bcuz 18% gratuity is already included even if the service sucks . 4 people given one burner . They have always given us 2 burners for 4 people ! It's very necessary for 4 people! They were also out of Filet Mignon a couple of other sauces . Food comes , very little food comes ! Our bill was $200 ! But barely any food ! Go to the restroom not a stitch of toilet paper or napkins! Not a great place

Overall, this was a fun dinner. I tend to eat very quickly, so having to wait for my food to cook is a nice form of self restraint! The booth style layout also offers privacy and avoids the crowded restaurant feel. Service was good, although our waiter kind of dropped off near the end, presumably because it got busier. The cheese and chocolate fondues are delectable, but I would advise not paying the extra ~11 bucks for the lobster tail, which was miniature to say the least. Not an everyday restaurant given the price point, but worth the experience every once in a while.

The overall enhancement of my experience justifies an additional star in my rating, although I’m still hesitant to give it four stars, as I don't feel it quite deserves that. We decided to go during happy hour since they offer a two-for-one deal on cheese and chocolate. For the cheese course, we tried the "Creamy Crab," which was actually quite enjoyable. The highlight, however, was the s'mores for dessert, which were unbelievably delicious. As someone who typically doesn't have a sweet tooth, this is a significant endorsement. So, my recommendation is that if you're curious about this place, definitely visit during happy hour. You’ll save a lot of money and get a good taste of what they offer. Since my friend is a fan of the melting pot experience and we dine out frequently, I’m sure I’ll be back to the Melting Pot soon, and I’ll keep you posted on my next visit.
